Justin Lanning |

|
Justin was raised in Monett, Missouri, just outside of the famous musical tourist town of Branson. He was very fortunate to be raised in a family with several generations of musical experience. Both of his parents, Jim and Jean Lanning, are now retired music teachers, and Justin's older sister, Jessica Avitia, has had much musical success as well. Being surrounded by music allowed Justin to have significant exposure to several genres of music. As early as the fifth grade, he began composing songs. This was his way of artistic expression. The song "Music Box", which is included on his latest project, was written by Justin, for his mother, when he was in seventh grade. He continued writing music, even though he followed a different path than most musicians. Justin graduated from Southwest Missouri State University, with a degree in Engineering Physics and then moved to St. Louis, Missouri for about two years to work for one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world. It was then when he received a call from a family friend, Toni Hart, letting him know about the Embassy Music Seminars for Unsigned Christian Artists and Songwriters in Nashville, Tennessee. Justin attended the seminars and found himself living in Nashville within a little over a month. Shortly thereafter, he became very involved with Embassy Music. At the following Embassy Music Seminars, he met Nikki, who became his best friend and later on, his wife. Being a singer, songwriter, pianist, percussionist, producer, and engineer, Justin has had several opportunities to explore different aspects of the music industry. He has been able to enjoy working with several wonderful writers and artists in Nashville. Working out of his home studio, Attic Productions and Crib Studios, he has been able to not only work on his personal projects, which have culminated in his latest cd, but also provide an outlet for new up and coming artists. He truly enjoys helping, guiding, and encouraging fellow artists as they begin their careers. But among the many things Justin has been involved with, his piano writing and playing have been a constant place where he can go to focus and find peace. Justin's music was created out of his personal worship and praise time with God.
Justin looks forward to continuing this series with periodic releases. He also looks forward to working closely with his wife Nikki to put together a debut vocal project. Justin and Nikki remain active with Embassy Music as well as with their praise and worship team at Christ Fellowship in Franklin, Tennessee.
